Established in July 1997 and its made up of five departments and later changed to three departments namely Administration and General Services, social Welfare, Women Affairs and Child Welfare.
KANO STATE REHABILITATION AND RELIEF AGENCY
The Kano State Relief and Rehabilitation Agency was established under the edict number 7 of 1989 with following functions:
- Collation of relief supply sources approved by the Government
- Distribution of emergency relief supplies victims of disasters
- Determination of the priority of all Emergency Relief operations
- Promoting the welfare and rehabilitation of the disabled persons in the State
- Assisting the disabled persons acquire necessary skills for self-reliance
- Securing market for the products produced by the disabled persons while in training and after training
STATE PILGRIMS WELFARE AGENCY
The Kano State Pilgrims' Welfare Board, which was established, by edict No.1 of 1968 as Hajj/Umra travel licensing Board has undergone various changes through laws and edicts of 1972, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1990 and 1992.
Under the edicts, the Board has a Chairman, Board members and Executive Secretary who is the chief executive. The departments are Operations, Administration & General Services and Revenue Department.
